My name is Mark Lukas. I studied Communication Design at the HfG Schwäbisch Gmünd and graduated with a MA Design from the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam with my thesis Smelling Data.
I started my career at Intuity Media Lab GmbH in Stuttgart working on UX/UI design for Bosch AG, before moving to Berlin where I worked at Nolte & Lauth GmbH on Online Car-Configurators for Daimler AG. Meanwhile I co-authored Prototyping Interfaces — Interactive Sketching with vvvv, the first published book for the visual programming language vvvv.
From 2016 to 2022 I worked as a Senior UX Designer at the Volkswagen Group Future Center Europe GmbH leading interaction design for prototyping for future mobility concepts, and scaling the UX department to 55 designers based on the holocracy mindset. Most recently I served as a UX Lead at the Volkswagen CARIAD SE, owning the Documentation of the Generic Design System across multiple VW Group brands and leading parts of the Design Handoff for the latest serial vehicle software.
Currently I am using the time for a personal reset. I lost 23kg, took up CrossFit, went on active sports trips, and rebuilt my daily habits from the ground up for the next career chapter.
In my free time, I enjoy burning carbs with CrossFit, inviting friends for dinner parties and resting at the lake with my fishing rod.
